Frequently Asked Questions
1) Do you do custom work?
Yes we do. We love making your dream outfit a reality. Our availibility for custom work depends on our current workload. Just email us if you have a custom work inquiry. For more info on our custom work policies see the notice at the bottom of this page.
2) Do you use a factory? Ocassionally we put out factory made collections, otherwise most of our clothing is made in our studio by our small team of workers.
3) How long is your ship time, does "ready to wear" mean in stock? Ready to Wear in our catalog simply means, standard sized/not custom sized. We do not keep anything in stock. All of our items are made once the order is placed. We do not like to keep items hanging around in a storeroom where they could get damaged or dirty. We make a brand new quality piece with each order placed. Ship times are listed on each individual piece, if a ship time is not listed for some reason you can usually expect delivery on most pieces in about 3-6 weeks.
4)Do you do rush orders?
No. We are a small company and we like to take our time on your order to make it the best it can be. All order times are stated in the item description.
5) What are your corsets made like?
Unless otherwise stated in the item info all of our corsets are made
with high qaulity flat steel boning which has a plastic coating to protect it from rust. Some of our corset styles use 1/4 inch steels, some
1/2, some of them a combo of the two. Overbust corsets usually use
bendable spiral steel on the bust seam to keep the shape of the bust.
Our corsets are lined with a heavy cotton or cotton twill lining and
interfaced with strong interfacing (usually acro interfacing). All of
our corsets and corseted bodices have back flap to protect your skin.
Most of our corsets are suitable for tightlacing and will cinch your
waist 3-5 inches at least unless otherwise stated. We can also reinforce almost any custom style for heavy waist training, just ask! We have over 10
years experience in making corsetry. All of our corset patterns are
hand drafted and we do not use pre-made commercial patterns.
6) What payment methods do you accept?
We take Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, and Money Orders.
7) Do you do wholesale? Yes we do wholesale to qualified retailers with a valid tax id. Please email us for policies and price lists.
Policies on Custom Sized Items and Custom Items:
Custom items come in two types, custom sized items listed in our catalog, and custom items we make for you from scratch working with your original ideas and our one of a kind designs for you. The below policy applies to all custom items, but there is a special policy now being added for made from scratch items please read everything fully before placing a custom order.
Although we will try our best to perfectly fit you please be aware that
items custom sized via the mail are a bit harder to fit than items made
with the customer to fit in person. We are experienced in custom fit
and it's a very rare thing a garment from us has a fit issue, but
please still order your garment in enough time to allow for minor adjustments
at a tailor or alternations shop just in case some minor tweaking must
be done. Any major fit issues we will be glad to fix for you, but minor
adjustments are best left to a local shop that can fit the garment to
your body in person and are a rare but normal thing. Examples of
minor adjustments might include things such as: hem shorting or
lengthening, tightening the side or shoulder seams by 1/4 inch to1
inch, letting a seam out a bit if the garment is too tight. We will not
do minor alterations . In the extremely rare case of major alterations
we will either fix the item or pay
for you to have fixed locally. Major fit issues would be considered the
garment totally not fitting by more than 2 inches in the bust, waist,
or hip or any sewing flaw/problems with the garment or damage caused
before the item arrived to you. We only except returns and refund
custom sized items if we both agree that there has been a major issue
since custom sized items are not easily resold. Full refunds given only
after we have fully reviewed the reasons presented to us and determined
them to be true and just.
Fees and Policies for ordering a original from scratch garment:
We are glad to create a original design just for you or work with your design ideas to make you a garment not offered in our catalog. Please be aware due to the time and money put into creating a design from scratch that is not our own vision we will now charge a non-refunable custom work fee on top of the cost of labor and materials. Fees vary depending on the complexity of the garment. Fee is meant to cover the time spent consulting with you about the final details of the garment, time spent sketching/designing your original garment, and the time taken to draft a new from scratch pattern for your garment. If for a rare reason you have problems and need a refund on a finished garment we will consider refunds on the price of the garment MINUS the consultation fee. No EXCEPTIONS. This fee will be qouted to you along with your qoute for making the garment. Do not contact us and place a custom order unless you are very serious about it. You
must understand with a design that is not our idea that what you
see in your head and what we can actually create my vary a bit. Please be VERY specific about any details that you have in mind when requesting a custom garment so we are both on the same page. Again
the fee mentioned above does not apply to custom sized items available
in our catalog, only to original designs that the customer hired us to
create (such as a one of a kind wedding, prom, evening, or costume
gown). Also be aware that we reserve the right to refuse to take a custom order if we feel the design is not something that represents our companies standards or design style, or is simply not something we feel we can do our best job on.
Below we will break down how the custom order process usually works:
1) Contact us with your design idea
2) We will let you know our take/ideas on the design and consult with you about fabrics, specifics, etc, and may even send you a sketch if need be.
3) We give you a price qoute for our design fee and the creation of the garment.
4) Once you have agreed to the price and give us the go ahead to start creating your garment this is the point when the item must be paid for and the rules about the non refundable fee go into place.
